......

okay, i am waaay too tired to continue on like that xD;; i went to my japanese class tonight so i'm trying to brush up on my skills a bit. i'm sure, with how exhausted i am right now, i got some stuff wrong xD;;

i know this is a little silly for me to ask since there are, like..... 5 locals in my f-list, buuuut..... did anyone out there get to see the Lunar Eclipse?

but anyway, linnet, steven, and myself (chad decided not to go) went to Meyer's Grade (up passed Jenner AKA about an hour north up the coast from me) to view this morning's total lunar eclipse. we left home about about 1:00am, hunted around for an open gas station, and took off. steven and linda (<-- his car) performed beautifully, navigating his way through the extremely dense SF Bay Area fog, despite the attempts of many millions of dear and raccoons leaping into our path. we broke through the fog at about 2am as we closed in on meyer's grade and it was there that we finally caught sight of it-- a huge half slice of bright, silver-y moon, and a deeply blue-black night sky. below us lay the coastal hills of outside-jenner, covered in some of the thickest fog i've seen in a long time.

we spent a good 2 hours up on the hill, watching the full moon turn from bright and enormous to a very very red/orange and enormous-- and as the moon eclipsed, the stars came out. it was one of the starriest skies i've seen in awhile (well, not including camp, but that hardly counts at all). together we pointed out what constellations we could find (AKA linnet would go, "ooo! i found *blah constellation*!" and steven and i would go, "oo, where?" steven, i must give him the credit, did find the Pleiades, and i spotted about 84763576587562 shooting and fallings stars.) we had the first sighting of Orion since before summer! woo!

we also sat about on the still-slightly-warm asphalt, listening to the animals in the trees around us-- there were crickets and turkeys and dear EVERYWHERE XDDD;;; they were LOUD. sometimes we even caught the sound of the crashing waves below us, and the barking of seals (probably being baffled by the eclipse).

it was a fun way to spend the early morning ^^ honestly, i feel very lucky to have 2 local friends who are just as willing and excited to take off in the middle of the night as i am. i think it was last week that i IM'd steven at 10pm and said, "i want to go to the beach." and he said, "let's go get linnet." XD

it's also reeeeeally nice to have things we like to do together that don't require large amounts of money xD;; all we have to do is gas up the car, and woosh! we're off to the coast to watch the stars come out. so far we've been lucky enough to avoid any unwanted encounters with the Rangers-- and really, even if we did have an encounter.... it probably wouldn't stop us coming out in the middle of the night like we like to do xD;; so steven-- linnet-- you two are Awesome ^_~b

we left Meyer's Grade (which after thousands and thousands of years of telling steven about, he finally got to see!) at about 4am, so i was in bed at about 5:30am. my dad was in the shower when i crawled into bed xD;;;

SO WHAT IF I HAD TO BE UP AT 7:30AM????? i haven't seen an eclipse since i was a kid! it was so awesome! it was so beautiful! seriously, folks--- if you ever get a good view of an eclipse where any of you live, do take the time to have a look! it's worth it~ the next full lunar eclipse is scheduled for 2011~ i hope linnet, steven, and i can all go together again when the day comes~

BUT YA.

I AM REALLY TIRED.

i should've been in bed..... 11 minutes ago xD;;

GOODNIGHT, EVERYONE!

PS--
oh, and also--- since when has PornoGraffitti been allowed to surprise me with a really awesome new album?? and the Okuda Tamio/Unicorn Tribute Albums! not cool! they should WARN us before they do this kind of stuff! *must locate place to buy tribute albums*
