 AHHH!!!!!!!
look! it's the internet!

i'm going to pretend that i have time to blog. ha HA.

so i went to Monterey about a week ago! had a blast! for those who don't know, Monterey is a city located about 3 hours south from where i live. it's a big long city rapped around a big round bay and is home to the Monterey Bay Aquarium which i rather enjoy visiting.

we went shopping a little, had lunch (Bubba Gump's XD which i've never been to! it was fun! the food was good! our waiter was awesome! the Mango Sparklers were delicious! the Alabama Mud Pie was deathly good! they had "run forest run" and "stop forest stop" signs for flagging down waiters XDD it was FUN. go to a Bubba Gump's if you ever get a chance :D), bought a rocking horse for the girls.... it was fun :D

my younger brother thinks the aquarium boring. well feh XD my parents and i had fun. my older brother and the girls were going to come with us, but it didn't work out. too bad, too-- i would've LOVED running through the aquarium with kairi! she would've had so much fun! especially with the life-size whales and fish and dolphins and things hanging from the ceiling :D

they had this awesome exhibit on barnacles (no really-- i know what you're thinking-- but it really was awesome XD). there are these big brown metal pillars throughout all the building, and they had one decorated with really big barnacles n' things and i noticed one side of the pole was all hallowed out, so kids could go behind the pole and stick their hands out of the holes of the barnacle shells-- i attempted to warn my mother, but too late XDD a little girl stuck her hand out and freaked mom out XDD most. hilarious. thing. ever. so we proceeded to get my dad and do the same thing to him XD it was awesome.

there are several big tanks at the aquarium and the 2nd biggest one has a whole kelp forest in it, several kinds of fish, and a bunch of different kinds of sharks. this one's a Cat Shark :D i love the kelp forest-- i spotted this bright orange fish swimming backward XD it was funny.

this was one of the big reasons we decided to go-- they have a new otter exhibit! 5 different kinds of otters from different parts of the world. they were fun XD watching them play and swim... otters are cute D:

then there's the BIG tank. HO MAN. my dad was all fascinated by the new Great White shark (which i found to be a little boring-- he was only 4.5 feet long xD;). the aquarium got a call a few weeks ago from some fishermen off the bay saying, "we caught this shark fishing-- he's in this big tank, so you want him?" the aquarium, of course, said "YES! GIMMIE GIMMIE GIMMIE!"
*I*, on the other hand, was astounded by everything ELSE in the tank. the tuna were HUGE! the baracuda were HUGE! the the sunfish were REALLY REALLY HUGE!!! i mean, LOOK at it! that thing is huge-- you have no idea. i mean, HUGE. like, big kitchen table huge. HUGE. and FUNKY looking!!! they're WEIRD!!!! i couldn't quit looking at it :D i ended up buying a silver charm of a sunfish. it was AWESOME. i also got 2 black pearl bracelets-- i dunno, i thought they were pretty xD;; and they match my earrings!!

but by far the coolest exhibit is the Jelly Fish Room. Ah. oh. ohhhhhhh it's cool. so many kinds of jelly fish! they're so pretty and awesome to watch! ah--- i loved it. LOVED it.

OH MAN and then we found John Clease XDDD you know-- the Monty Python fellow? now HE was AWESOME-ER. we could not believe it XD so throughout the aquarium at different exhibits there are little videos and things playing to tell you something about the exhibit or the thing in the exhibit-- in John Clease's case, he was talking about water conservation. in one video he was wandering through his house in a bathrobe talking about conserving water and being charming and witty and hilarious, and in the OTHER..... XDD oh. man. he was simply sitting in a chair reading a very large book called, "It's All About Water." every few seconds he would look up, raise his eyebrows at you, and then look back at his book XD and that is all. my parents and i were AMUSED. but a Very Very LONG time. XDDD

but ya, the aquarium is fun~ and i intend to go back sometime after september 15th! they're bringing in a new exhibit on deep sea creatures!

I. WANNA. SEE.
